How to convert a PDF into a presentation.
You can turn a PDF into slides by placing pages as pictures, by converting it to an editable file, or by having a tool read its content and rebuild the slides. The first is fast but uneditable, the second is editable but often messy, and the third gives clean slides if the tool keeps the PDF’s words and numbers exactly.
What are the three ways to do it?
| Question | What you get | What you lose |
|---|---|---|
| Pages as pictures | Each PDF page placed on a slide as an image | Editing, search and accessibility |
| File conversion | An editable presentation from the PDF’s layout | Clean layout: text boxes and fonts often break |
| Read and rebuild | New slides in your theme from the PDF’s content | Nothing, if words and figures are kept exactly; check that they are |
How do I keep the content accurate?
- Check that the PDF has real text, not scanned images; scanned pages need text recognition first.
- Compare every number on the slides against the PDF.
- Keep a note of which page each slide came from, so anyone can check it later.
How does Coadie do it?
Upload a PDF and Coadie keeps its words as editable text and indexes each page. When it builds a deck from that material, slides are drawn in your theme and each sentence links back to the PDF page it came from. A PDF page that is a picture can still be placed whole, under a title that says its point.

Can I convert a PDF to PowerPoint for free?
Many free converters exist; expect to fix the layout afterwards, and check every figure against the original.
Will the text stay editable?
With a converter or a tool that reads the content, yes. Pages placed as pictures are not editable.
