Build a customer-specific deck from slides you already have.

You rarely need a blank page. Most companies already own the slides that answer a customer’s problem; the work is finding them, putting them in the order the customer will think in, and making them look like one deck. Here is a method that works by hand, and how Coadie does the same steps for you.

The method

Step by step: how do you tailor a deck to one customer?

01

Write down what they said

Their problems in their words, from the call notes. These become your search terms and your slide titles.

02

Decide the argument

Situation, why now, what changes, proof, how it works for them, commercials, next step.

03

Find a slide for each step

Search your existing decks and PDFs for the slide that does each job. Prefer approved, current material.

04

Check every claim

Each number and customer name must trace to a source you can show.

05

Make it one deck

Restyle every slide into your company theme: fonts, colours, layouts, logo.

06

Rewrite the titles

Each title should state the slide’s point for this customer, so the deck reads on its own.

07

Cut

If a slide does not serve this customer’s decision, it goes to the appendix.

Pitfalls

Where does it usually go wrong?

  • Starting from the last deck instead of the customer’s problem brings the last customer’s story with it.
  • Pasting slides as they are mixes three brands in one deck.
  • Old numbers survive because nobody remembers where they came from.
With Coadie

How does Coadie do this?

You write the brief in the customer’s words; Coadie searches your library by meaning, picks a slide for each step of the argument, redraws them in your theme, writes speaker notes, and links each written sentence to its source. A focused deck takes about two minutes, and you edit it like PowerPoint. How account executives use it.

Questions

Questions about tailoring decks.

How do I personalise a sales deck quickly?

Start from the customer’s own words, pick existing approved slides for each step of the argument, restyle them into one theme, and rewrite the titles for that customer.

Should I use a template?

A template helps with looks, but the content should come from your approved library and be chosen for this customer.

See it on your own material.
